May 21 and Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Hickory and Tri-County Motor Speedways. The pair of 250-lap races, often brings together the stars of ASA and other national touring series, part of a major racing weekend in the area between Hickory, Tri-County, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

A childhood trip to the garage can birth a lifelong passion.

That’s exactly the story of Gary Patellaro. Better known as “Woodman” throughout the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series pit area, Patellaro hails from San Jose, CA and comes from West Coast racing royalty. His uncle, Billy Albini, is one of the sport’s most renowned crew chiefs, thanks in large part to a dominant stretch with Brent Kaeding.

But before becoming a force with “BK,” Albini worked with San Jose Speedway regular Bob Bakeman. A curious Patellaro spent some time in the shop around the cars with his uncle, laying the foundations of a love for the sport.

The recently expanded and restructured SEAL (Sealed Engine Alliance Leaders) Committee has announced a new, consistent sealing program for previously unsealed built, parts engines and the limited-builder sealed engines. The new program will bring these Super Late Model engines under the SEAL umbrella to ensure continuity and rules enforcement for both engine types.

Super Late Model engines have mainly fallen into two categories: (1) sealed super late model packages from a limited group of approved builders utilizing their own seals, and (2), unsealed “Parts Engines” that could be built by any builder.

UCSON, Ariz. — Although Cole Denton had never competed at Tucson Speedway prior to Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series West race, he handled the weekend with a veteran’s poise.

With tire conservation being at the forefront of the strategy, Denton was tasked with maintaining his track position from the pole while ensuring his car would be fast enough for the closing stages. Patience and perfectly timed cautions played into Denton’s favor, who scored a comfortable, maiden West Series victory Saturday evening.
